- Susan Lucci of Hockey - Martin Brodeur after being shut out numerous time for the Vezina Trophy, the NHL top goaltender award.
- The Edmonton Express - Eddie Shore - Mr. Shore once played a whole game only sitting down to serve a two minute penalty.
- Rocket - Maurice Richard was the first player to score 50 goals in a season.
- Bucky - Bernard Geoffrion of the Montreal Canadiens. He won the 1961 MVP. Bernard, also, played for the New Your Rangers.
- Jimmy Buffer - Manny Legace of the Detroit Red Wings.
- Boom Boom - Bernard Geoffrion of the Montreal Canadiens and New York Rangers. He won six (6) Stanley Cups during his career. He once cut off his own cast while traveling by train with a knife.
- Butch - Bruce Cassidy the one time coach of the Washington Capitals
- Tiger - Dave Williams - Racked up 4000 minutes in penalties during regular season. He was known to slam the penalty box door so hard the plexiglass would shatter. In fits of rage he would throw chairs out of the penalty box and would infuriate the opposing team further by riding his hockey stick like a broom when he scored a goal. Nothing like proud parent moments caught on tape.
- Breeze-by - Patrick Brisebois a defenseman for the Montreal Canadiens. He earned his nickname for his inconsistent play on the blue line.
