HOCKEY TRIVIA PAGE 4 / No. 31 - 40 HOCKEY TRIVIA THE CRAZY ONES!! "Don't try this at home" hockey trivia.
Remember please don't try these at home or arena. These stunts were performed by "trained" professionals. 31) George Laroque of the Edmonton Oilers has made a spectacle of himself by smashing his body against the plexiglass when he scores a goal. 32) Jeremy Roenick threw a water bottle at a referee after he disagreed with the call. He was sub sequentially fined $ 100,000US for his little hissy fit. 33) Bobby Baun a tough checker for the Toronto Maple Leafs played a game and a half with a broken leg. He wanted to help his team win the series in 1964 so he filled up on pain killers and had his leg set after winning the series. 34) Tom McVie jumped out of his third floor hotel room balcony into the pool below fully dressed avoiding a fine for being late. He arrived for the 12:00 pm meeting at 11:59 am. Tom liked to amuse his teammates by practicing with a puck in his mouth. Don't you just want to party with this guy! 35) Bob and Barclay Plager two brothers whose brotherly love did not carry itself onto the ice when these two brothers faced off against each other during a junior hockey game. With sticks and fists flying the brothers' fight spilled over into the hallways of the arena. Another proud parent moment for the Plager boys' parents. 36) Dave "Tiger" Williams was famous for his on ice temper tantrums. When he disagreed with a call he would slam the penalty box door so hard the plexiglass would shatter. Once in the penalty box his temper tantrum would continue with flying chairs. I guess that is why they have built in benches now. He liked to infuriate the opposing team by riding his stick like a witch on a broom around the ice whenever he scored. 37) Nick Fotiu was a fan favorite of the New York Rangers. He remembered never catching a puck in the stands as a boy so he would stay after warm ups and toss pucks into the crowd. Nick once took a lobster from a hotel restaurant, removed the rubber bans from its claws and put it on the chest of his sleeping roommate, Bill Goldsworthy. With friends like that who needs enemies? 38) Tim Hurlburt never played in the NHLbut he made front page news in Oct 17, 2002 when he knocked himself out climbing the glass at the Calgary Saddledome in attempt to streak across the ice. He laid unconscious on the ice a full 6 minutes dressed only in a pair of red socks. 39) Terry Sawchuk of the Winnipeg Jets was just plain weird. He kept a jar of his bone fragments displayed on his mantel. Hey, Terry, what is wrong with a family portrait? 40) Bernard Geoffrion cut his own cast off with a knife while traveling by train.
