Hockey Night in Canada theme song was composed by Dolores Claman in 1968.  A graduate of the Jullian School of Music in New York.  Born in Vancouver, B.C., Ms Claman was commissioned to write an ad for MacLaren Advertising Agency never expedting her ad would become the theme song for CBC hockey broadcasts.  It is interesting to note prior to writing the Hockey Night in Canada theme song Dolores Claman had never attend a hockey game.
