COLLEGE HOCKEY: HOCKEY AT ITS PUREST FORM

College hockey is hockey at its purest form. Fans can enjoy the game of hockey without the clutching and grabbing that goes on in many other hockey leagues. Fights are few and far between at the college hockey level because of the automatic ejection rule. This allows for an open, fast paced, flowing hockey game.

The NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) is now a highly prized commodity amongst NHL (National Hockey League) scouts. There are three divisions at the college Hockey level - Division one for major colleges down to Division 3 for smaller colleges. Many colleges today have a woman's varsity team which has enjoyed immense growth and popularity in the last decade.

The quality of the college player and the strong programs offered at the NCAA level have convinced many player drafted by the NHL today to play at the college hockey level and obtain their education before moving on to the NHL.
